The satellite intends sharing lessons learnt and exemplars of good practices from different countries and actors in East, Southern and Western Africa through an interactive panel discussion to help ground recommendations on Fast Tracking HIV in countries affected by migration and large scale population movement. The session will cover HIV in the context of Humanitarian response, including food security; HIV and TB in mining; HIV and SRHR in migration-affected setting. The panel will discuss also current practice and highlight the current status of HIV in the region noting evident points of risk and resilience among mobile populations that have learned how to be both resourceful and innovative. This satellite session answers the broad theme of the ICASA 2017.
