Collaborating global north and south organizations will offer evidence-based critiques of restrictions in U.S. policies and the implications for prevention and the HIV response. A keynote will discuss the grossly expanded Global Gag Rule (GGR) and its implications for the global AIDS response, and a panel will include both the GGR and critiques of the shift back to abstinence-only-until-marriage language, now couched in "sexual risk avoidance" language, the reemergence of guidance and funding supporting faith-based organizations, the implications of U.S. policy on foreign NGOs working to protect the human rights and health of commercial sex workers.
