Increasing uptake of HIV testing among men and young people is critical to the HIV response. This satellite session will explore HIV self-testing consumer insights from east and southern Africa with a particular focus on young men. New approaches in building HIVST demand will be presented, including the use of human centered design, commercial advertising approaches, government-led campaigns and private sector delivery. Civil society, governments, funders and affected populations will reflect on what we have learned to date and how new innovations may ensure HIVST scale-up reaches populations most in need of testing services. Participants will have an opportunity to interact directly with materials from the latest HIV self-testing programs.
